Zurich and Rome

The site of Zurich has been inhabited for around 7000 years. In the year 15 B.C., the Romans arrived in the Lindenhof, where they installed a post known under the name of Turicum. They built their first stone buildings of the city there and brought vines to the region. The city was populated by around 250 to 350 inhabitants and already included a bridge, a port and thermal baths which can still be visited today.
